A discerning vinyl collector from the age of 12 and a presence to be reckoned with in the DJ booth for the past 22 years, Shaq D’s lifelong love affair with Soul Music has taken him all over the UK and to Europe’s Largest Street Party, The Notting Hill Carnival. He’s recently deejayed at A La Carte and Stylish Nights Closing Ceremony Party hosted by Asafa Powell amongst others.
Shaq D used to have a Sunday evening show on SOUL UK Radio called TheLoveShaq, showcasing Neo Soul independent artists (The New Cool), Rare Groove, a little mid tempo RnB and Slow Jams.
Shaq-D is gifted generalist covering contemporary RnB, 80s Soul, Funky House, Revival, Rare Groove, Garage, Jungle, and Ragga/Old Time Bashment when he plays out. In common with many of our DJs, he has several club and bar residences in the centre of London.
Shaq-D cares a lot about charity and routinely tries to raise funds for several organisations including the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, Breast Cancer and Meningitis Trust to name a few. Hyping the night and taking the crowd on a musical journey with him are the reasons he loves Deejaying as much as he does.
